DuckDuckGo has got Apple Maps on board with them for local searches on Web

DuckDuckGo, the name which has been quite popular these days calls itself to be a search engine which aids users with protecting privacy. AAs per the recent information, it is said to tie up with Apple for future venture wherein it will be using Apple Maps for its local search results on both desktops and web browsers and this is sure to raise the bar of DuckDuckGo which will now let you experience improved searches, enhanced satellite imagery and additional visual features which will enable you to use improvised and update apps. On opting for more results Apple maps will provide the address and local searches.

There was no previous information of Apple providing with such tools which will enable developers to embed their web apps. However, the company in the last conference announced the launch of MapKit JS for all the developers worldwide which was effectively utilised by DuckDuckGo. MapKit JS launched by Apple will provide an ease to all the developers to use the embed maps, add annotations and create custom pins to identify the places.

Before the tie up, DuckDuckGo used various services altogether for all their results. Even now Company will continue with various other providers particularly, however with Apple on board with them, their major focus will be on Apple Maps by making it a default source for maps and directions.

DuckDuckGo collects and stores only the required minimal data which enables them to complete the search query. DuckDuckGo since its inception has been following strict privacy policy as per which they do not indulge in storing or sharing any sort of personal data and they have made sure to not let this policy of theirs get affected after getting Apple on board. Even at present all the search results on their platforms will remain private and confidential. Their main motive of the tie up with Apple was that Apple provides a robust mapping feature and all this can be done without the need of any sort of personal data. Keeping their privacy policy in mind DuckDuckGo thought of using Apple maps as it wouldn’t hamper their work process at any cost.

Apple Maps though quite popular still are a little rough when it comes to using the maps. Especially the interface can still be improved as it does not give a smooth feel when we scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in or out.
